I have developed a Prototype Delrin Skid Plate that eliminates the bottom supports. Remember that this is a prototype.

Using the OEM skid as a template...that is about as far as it went...

To eliminate the bottom supports I needed to use 3/8" Delrin and then notch it.

The elimination of these three supports and adding the delrin puts more weight down low... "thumbsup"

I needed to angle the area where the links are to avoid binding

Test fit

To support the tranny plate I notched to tight tolerances to make sure there is no slop...also had to make room for the spur gear and needed to taper it for easy removal, if needed.

Here is the fit...

Here is the topside of the plate

As you can see it is tapered to the angle of the OEM skid

Here it is mounted (Side view)

It is slightly thicker than the OEM Alum one but I will be rounding the edges so that isn't "hanging" down.

Here is the bottom view...note that there no sharp edges and screw heads

Like I said above...I will be rounding and tapering the sides to avoid the possibility of snagging.

When I get a chance, I will post up a comparison of weight differences. This is a big chunk of Delrin creating a low CG...

Looks real good man:tmbup:

If you need a CAD model of that Prototype, I can knock one out in a day or two. Not sure how far your taking that, but knowing you it could be useful to have a model to pass on to somebody

Not even close...

Mine eliminates the screws on the bottom and also makes a more rigid assembly.

It's not pretty yet but it is still in prototype stage...

After this weekend...tweaks will go into production...
