Ok I don't have pics but some good ways to tune in your new larger scale car that will improve grip, and "handling" are really simple and easily done with some stuff that you probably already have around the house...
First thing to do is check the guide on the front of your car, if it is tight in the slot, you can very simply shave it down using a metal nail file or small file, you want to make sure that there is no binding in corners, or that the bottom of the guide is connecting with the bottom of the slot, if it does connect then you may want to shave it down as well, this way you improve the contacts, and the front wheels contact surface...
Second thing is to "True" your tires, AB Charles has a great way to do this using some emery cloth attached to a small section of powered track, it can also be done at home with a peice of sandpaper, basically you wnat to wear down the rear tires so that the edges are a bit rounded, and the contact surface of the tire is smooth, and doesnt have any high spots, the front tires in some cases will fit onto the rear rims, with the front tires you want to shave them down a bit more than the rears, and definitely round the edges, this will help in cornering...
After you true up your tires, take some tape, (masking or other sticky type tape that is wider than the width of your car) and roll the tires across the sticky surface, this will remove any of the dust and debis from them and allow the tires to get a better grip on your track surface..
You may also want to maintain the tires by reguarly "taping" the tires as they will pick up dust from the track, you will usually notice the car getting "loose" in the corners and under acceleration.. when this happens get out your tape and clean the tires off...
Hope these tips help out with those just getting into slot cars either with home sets or those that go out to larger tracks and race against other folks...
Good luck and have fun racing..:drv:
