Thread: Rckcrwlr's Barndog Racing Lexan Panels

Default Rckcrwlr's Barndog Racing Lexan Panels

When I got the 5SC, I just loved the looks of it. The body made the truck.

Then I went to RCX last year and met Kevin from TeamChase. He hooked me up with one of his cages.
This is something that is a must for the 5T and 5SC. These bodies get hammered due to the size. The cage helps support it.

We were discussing how cool it looked without the body.

Finally Barndog Racing just released Lexan Panels for the TeamChase Cage for the Baja.

Mine just showed up and wow...it is some thick lexan... .093 and .060 respectively.

Talking with Kevin he pointed me to his youtube channel for help with installing it...

You need to use tin snips....

      Here is the video...

Default Taking the Dog out of the Barn for some Bling Action

So I picked up the colors I was looking for...

      And here they are...

First thing I did was prep the panels and mask off my design...Then dusted the panels with the Lame Flake. When I say dust, it's just that. If you do too much it will look like your rig spent the night at a strip joint.

After it dried, I did several light coats of the blue. This is the look it gave...

I peeled the masking off and sprayed several coats of the Anodized Aluminum. It says to back with Black but I wanted it to be more silver so I backed with White...

I will not let it dry and cover the inside with strapping tape for not only strength but to minimize the cage wearing the paint off...

So here is what she looks like...

BlingDog (Barndog) Racing Panels... Thanks Brandon
