    Thread: Blade mqx

I've been unable to do much of anything RC for the past year or so and have been feeling out of it. Saw one of these little guys and have been wanting to try it out ever since. Picked up the one an only at AB Charles the other night as a b-day present from the family. I will be the first to admit that I have very limited flying experience with anything other than airhogs so I was diving in with both feet on this one. I've been trying to take it slow and steady, but this thing is just so fun to fly.

Have flown it about 10 times or so now and haven't broken anything yet. The canopy has lots of scotch tape and the props are getting beat up, but it still flies just fine.

I switched from X mode to + mode last night and have been having much greater success with it. I read somewhere that + mode is a little easier for beginners. I can keep it up for most of the battery now (10-12minds). I have it set to low rate and have turned throttle inputs waaaaay down. Still more comfortable when it's going away, have been practicing turning and bringing it back to me very slowly at low levels. Works great outside, but can get lofted easily by the wind. I'm learning not to panic and jerk the sticks when i want to correct something. So far it's survived a telephone pole, magnolia tree, telephone wire, and my neighbor's hedge.

Can't wait to get some more batteries for this thing. I feel like a little kid at christmas.

I love flying Helicopters more than I do Airplanes. I got rid of mine, but I am really liking that new E-Flite Huey. I think I'm going to pick one up soon!

      Jake,
I have been loving this thing since they had the corny launch...

Need to get my hands on one and try it. Would be a great Camping pass time.

Just picked up three more batteries on Amazon for 4.62 apiece. Even with shipping it's still cheaper than I could get anywhere else.

      Jake,
You're not going to let this guy one up you, are you???

Holy crap that's awesome. I lurk on an mqx forum and people are already talking about making a Delorean canopy. Maybe once I learn to fly the thing. Did several more flights in plus mode yesterday indoors and out. Definitely easier to control than the X config.

Well worth the money. I've had more fun with this little thing over the past month or so. You can fly it just about anywhere.
