Thread: MegaTech MPro-RCB 1/18th Buggy RTR Review

Default MegaTech MPro-RCB 1/18th Buggy RTR Review

Picked up this buggy at AB-C. The price was right so I figured I would give it a try.

This is Megatech's entry into the 18th scale arena. The MPro-RCB Buggy RTR.

First look it doesn't look bad. After a closer look...I would say it is a close to an Associated RC18B as you can get legally.

The overall chassis layout is the same. The Mpro is set up with a wider chassis plate that I found out was because they offer a Dual Motor Conversion

The front suspension is close to the same...I did notice that it has a universal shock tower that can be used for front/rear and any body style.

Rear Suspension is close to the same...I like the MPro how it screws from the back versus the bottom like the Assoc. Anyone that has tried to remove the screws after bashing knows what I am talking about.

      OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES:

They list a ton of Alum hopups and other items...here are a few that I thought were worthy of mentioning:

Battery and charger kit: This splits the cells to either side of the chassis for balance and installation of Dual Motor Kit.

Brushless Motor & ESC: Do I need to say more?

Here is my first Test run on the track...It will be competitive for an inexpensive price.

Those are the same as the "ProPulse" line of 1/18ths that Radio Shaq recently disco'ed... I've heard nothing but good reviews of 'em... excellent bang for bucks ratio.

My next thing is to see if Assoc. Parts will interchange...that would be the ultimate...

Digging up an old post but have to say that Stevestock, my kids, their friends and myself ran 18th today on the track. What a blast. Compared to my Fully blown out RC18, this thing ran circles around me. I was hitting corners at close to WOT and it slid nice. Jumps landed like a pro.

May have to get a couple more...four rigs on the track isn't enough...

      Need a couple more obstacles...

These things rock, ive got 3 of the pro-pulse versions... one stock, one high speed motor, and one with twin engines... the modified ones wont get traction down at raceway hobbies circle track but the stock one is about perfect

      Id recomend one to anyone
