Thread: Would like suggestions on building a rock crawling course

you options are endless, just get the rock and start laying them down, have some ideas and try to execute. elevation is good, but using dirt can get pretty muddy when it rains.

i would suggest hay bails or 2b limestone as a base.

you really cant go wrong with throwing down the larger rock, just build it and look for lines after its done, you can use smaller rock to fill holes and gaps if needed.

as for some bridges you can use some large tree branches as the long stringer on each side and then cut smaller branches at 15" or so and us a small finish nail gun or staple gun to attach them to the larger stringers.

just let your mind go and start building.

you can also do a cable bridge, lots of larger comps are using them. be good to practice on.

Here's my bridge. It's made from free stuff and time. Pallets, heavy gauge wire, and pieces of copper tubing for in between the planks. I left extra wire on the ends to secure it to whatever. So, it's portable if you don't count it being heavy and awkward. But it fits in my car. It's just under 13 feet

    Default Tubby T's bridge

Very nicely done. How long did it take you to complete it. Great pictures.

The gathering of free stuff takes the longest. Unless you're like me and constantly bring stuff like that home.

It probably took me 10-12 hours total. Build Thread coming soon.
