    Sniper (Avalanche Engineering)

Originally known as the Rock Buggy, Avalanche Engineering introduced the Sniper to the growing Rock Crawling Community in 1999. The Sniper integrates functionality and durability into an attractive package. She is a beautiful machine and a very capable rock crawler, as well earning top honors/recognition at the Warn National Championship in 1999 and 2000.

She certainly will always be a dream project/a prized catch for the avid scale rig enthusiast/collector.

Just got to know recently about this project and that it took 2 years of careful planning, execution, and re-defining, to create one that is worthy to be called a 2.2 Sniper Scale Rig Chassis replica. Simply Exhilarating!

It is difficult to find words that can adequately capture my sincerest gratitude, tremendous appreciation of everything. THANKS John!

Here are some of the parts I plan to use and still have to figure if this tranny will fit and look right.

        RC4WD Motor.jpg

These are 1/8 scale racing seats & interiors of the Ferrari F50 done by Pocher. They should be OK. The model engine is also 1/8 scale Ferrari F50 as well, not sure if it will fit ...

That is one beautiful chassis !

I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Are you gonna keep the rox lox on there?

Thanks again for everything including the little gift. Once in a while you get very lucky and get more than you actually bargained for. Especially In time of economic down-turn, gift like this indicate that your dealing with a friend and brother who's greater interest is to help get the project properly completed. This is why there i no words that I can find to express my sincerest gratitude.

Thank John, will do the best we can.

BTW, do you think that the RC4WD Engine/Transfer Case will fit into this? I am concerned that the Pocher 1/8 scale F50 engine might be too big.

The Pocher is going to be huge.

I would definitely look at the RC4wd V8. Only issue will be trying to use a puller motor. I would do a Handwound 35T to get your wheelspeed. The V8 encases a 540 motor.

I'll be trying out different option, and will pick-up a set of rox lox if they are highly recommended and the best match. Here is a first try ...

Be great to have scale-looking wheels. Please let me know what you think.

If I may, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the fantastic Job on this chassis. She is everything a 2.2 Scale Sniper should be. CHEERS! Ed .

I have these ... I got to talk to Mike or Rob, as the black V8's have sold-out.
