  • Trail ride @ Frick

I got up early today, well early for a Saturday, and decided to hit the trails at Frick. So many of the trails link up that I probably ran for a half mile today, and I walked past several trails on my way back to my car. I started at 7:30 and it was 11:30 before I knew it.

    To the pics.

We first start with a water crossing. Oh yeah, the Ford is back.

Over the bridge and through the woods...

There's no shortage of roots on the trails.

    Scaler crossing.

I stepped backwards off of this 3 foot ledge while shooting a little video. I don't know how I didn't fall and get hurt. If you look, you can see my foot print in the mud.

I've got a little video that I'll post up later.

I've got a little video up now. Part 3 is by far the best.

I was driving with only one hand, and holding the camera with the other shooting the vid. Next time I'll drive that spot with both hands, and watching where I'm going.

Why back to the Ford body? I loved the scout it was starting to look really killer!

I like the Ford body, it's a great beater. It also doesn't get snagged on obstacles like taller bodies with more squared corners on them (like the scout).

I have a second x-trail chassis now, so the Scout will be back at some point. I'll be putting a white wheel, and a smaller tire on it to make it look more like a stock Scout.
