Here is the RC Addict Real Honest Review of the Vaterra Ascender. Loving the scale look of these and way it handles. Looking forward to getting some more trail time and finding out if it's tougher then an Axial SCX10.

I like the axles. The lack of extra gearing to over drive the front is a concern for comping but it does drive well and with a little tuning it will be a contender.

I was so tempted to grab one off the shelf at Tom's on Friday but resisted, and now I am remorseful.

I too love the body, especially agree with the molded front fascia with LED clips, that's awesome. The CMS out of the box is also really cool. The battery tray is a cool idea too, but wouldn't do me much good cause I like my batts big and bricky.

Driveshaft retention is novel, but how hard is it to swap in a new one, do you have to dismantle the whole axle?

So you need to pull the ring and pinion to pull the drive shaft???

I wonder if it is for scale look or just to be "different"?

That's a good question John. It is different that for sure and it makes using other drive shafts and greats on the market fairly impossible.

This is something to think about. I miss the K5 I had built. This may become my new class 1 rig.
