  • Anybody run a twin stick & 2 esc's???

I just got Superduty44's clod setup last night. We had a 5 channel twin stick & a pair of rooster crawlers, so we went that route instead of a servo operated switch system.

Let me tell you, that thing takes some work, and alot of thought to drive. However, when everything clicks just right, it's extremely maneuverable.

Anybody else here run a similiar setup? Any tips or tricks to make it easier to run?

very nice! i believe that stick king is the only one in the club that runs that setup. it can be very advantagous if you can learn how to drive it.
      good luck!!

I have a couple switches mixed. Allowing the ability to Dual steer, or steer front and rear independent. Same for the throttle. I have it setup to switch for the front and rear to run together, or flip the switch and its independent.

Its tough to get used to, but it can help a bunch. I may start using the stick radio on my scalers.

Billy runs stick on his Super and 2.2 comp truck. He does really well with it.

The main thing is understanding how to work everything on the radio. Might tell him to get a DX6 down the road. It is easier to use, has more features, and there are several write-ups on RCC on how to set it up.

        Good luck.

my DX6i in the super is setup like r4l's, left stick mixxed for dual throttle and right stick mixxed for dual steer, 2 switches and all independent, right stick is front throttle and steer and left is rear throttle and steer, it does need alot of to drive it, but I'm new to the setup, need to put about 25 packs thru it on mild terrain to learn to it , when it works it works great , most of the time its luck till I get used to it

You definitely want to run several packs through...don't want to be which stick to use in a comp environment...

Picked up a few things today (servos, batter/motor wire, connectors, etc.), and either tomorrow or Friday, we'll have a DX6i for it. It'll still take some getting used to, but at least with channel mixing it'll take one excuse for us sucking out of the equation.

Oh, and I stripped an axle & broke a steering link practicing at the Yorkville dam yesterday.

better send it in and get the left stick converted first or you won't want to pull it apart to send it in.................thats where I am with it

kinda hard to drive it that way

If you buy it new. I heard you can call Horizon and ask them to do the mod before they send it. If you bought it used. There is a thread somewhere on RCC to do the mod yourself. I did the mod, its not that hard as long as you have the right parts!

Make sure to check RCC for the mixing instructions!

                        Good luck!!

Even if you buy it at a LHS...you can send it to them and they will mod at no charge...

The LHS can request it also

I'm going to see if the LHS can order the parts instead of sending it back. I already had it apart & saw what I need. If I had the parts, I could probably have it done in 15 -20 minutes.

they will not send the parts, it has to be done by them on they will not warranty it
