2.2 proline beadlocks & Mashers
Ok so I swapped out the 2.2 stompers for my old standby M2k'm3's.. for the first time I yanked the bead right out... and that was just rolling my rig around the house.. to say the least I am disapointed.

Jay, did you make sure the bead was centered in the groove on the wheels? I had the same problem with the RC4WD rockstars with my Moabs. You need to make sure the bead is centered up and in the groove.
Also make sure you tighten the bolts all the way down. My MSDs have a false bottom so to speak. You think they are tight, but you can pull the bead out due to the bolts only being about halfway down. For some reason they hit a tight spot that you have to go through.
Tighten the bolts in a star pattern, and after you think you have them tight go a few more times all the way around to make sure.

Re: 2.2 proline beadlocks & Mashers
I went and redid them again in the aforementioned star/crisscross pattern
Im a car guy so i know how to set the bolts in.. LOL One thing that I found is that the beadlock ring leaves a bit of a gap... I had everything centered up tightened the screws down till they couldnt go no further, and like a guy with no protection... pulled it right out again...
wheel mounting isnt rocket science.. but this is nuts!
for now I am going back to the axials.

Re: 2.2 proline beadlocks & Mashers
Ok guys need some help... I am trying the straight M2k's on thes proline rims, so far the front side is holding fast, however the inside ring will not bottom out at all, in fact it feels as tho the holes are stripped out, what can you all suggest as far as a fix for this?
Thanks

Re: 2.2 proline beadlocks & Mashers
If you think that they are stripped...place a drop of CA in there before you screw it in. Make sure you do it quickly.
I have found that when putting on beadlocks, do one of two things...either place the bead on and hold it tight with your fingers while you screw them in or use a clamp to hold them tight. If you are pulling in the ring with the screws...they will strip...even if you crisscross.
I have a clamp that helps me...
