hi there i am starting to look at lipo batteries for my 2.2 comp truck and i have no idea what i am looking at when i see them no. on the batteries. like the no of cells, mah , s, and c. was wondering if anyone know of a web site like "lipo batteries for a idiot"
that i could use to find out what all that info means.

    thanks joe

      Re: lipo battery

Here is what I have found out so far...

"S" is the number of Cells in series (3S)
"P" is the number of Cells in Parallel (4P)
      "C" is the ratio of amp burst (example: 2200mah 3S with 20C = (2.2x20= 44amps max draw)

You never want to charge a LiPo more than 1C which in the case of the example would be 2.2 amps.

On the balancing deal...some say that you don't need to balance everytime. I have watched my Hyperion balance charge and it will jump from one cell to the other as the volts increase buy .1 of a volt. This has to be good.

The misconception is that you get more runtime out of LiPo. It seems that mah is the same no matter what. The difference is the volts. If you are running a 6 cell NiMh 2000 mah versus a 3S LiPo 2000 mah, you will get more run time due to the higher voltage so it won't drain as fast.

The other key thing is making sure that you use a voltage cutoff when charging. LiPo's cannot run below 3.0v per cell. That is the lowest...

As I learn more...I will get back to you...

Anyways, Dad posted up a good chunk of info, and that is pretty much what was in my reply.

          Just something else to add...

          Series will increase Total Voltage (3S 2000mah is 3 cells at 3.7v = 11.1v @ 2000mah)
          Parallel will increase mah (3P 2000mah is 3 cells at 2000mah = 3.7v @ 6000mah)

            thanks for the info

I want to try them but do not want to buy the wrong one and go backwards
as to how the truck runs.
