Re: dove tail
Originally posted by USRCCA 2008 Rules• 2.1.2 - Bodied vehicles: Any support chassis allowed. Body must be 3” minimum height on sides. No
less than 12.5” total length and full original width, and no less than 5” in the center. All bodies should
resemble its original form (Jeep bodies look like a Jeep)
So by this section in the rules, the CENTER can not be touched at all! However, either end maybe dovetailed. AS long as you keep the original form intact.

Re: dove tail
My interpetation on this is that you cannot cut the body down the middle, take 2 inches out and then fuse it back together. That is narrowing the full width. Dovetailing is only narrowing the back or front...

Re: dove tail

Re: dove tail
Originally posted by rockboundit reads by those rules that the body must be full width. how do you see that dove tailing is allowed. It doesn't read that way to me.
The intent, which never got put into the rules, is that the CAB has to remain orginal width. You can dovetail. This is unclear in the rules, and will be brought up for clarification.
Why dont you just flat cut the bed area, like my F650 body was? That looks better than a dovetail job.

Sounds like you way too much flex then. I would try to limit flex before dovetailing a body.
