scalers lights keep cutting out

ok i wired my scaler with led lights (head, tail, and 4 rock lights), i have them running off the red and black wires from a secondary esc, its an intelispeed 16t mild mod esc. The main motor leads from the esc go to my scaleoffroad winch. i used the white wire from the esc and ran it to the receiver, the black and red wires go to the lights. I used resistors on all the leds. instead of posting all the pics again, her is a link to my build thread were you can see all the wiring.

i am also running a mtronics viper esc to actually run the truck and i run a 6 cell 3300 battery pack, 2 hitec 645 servos one for shifting tranny one for steering.

My question is, when i turn the esc on to turn the lights on, they go out after about 8-10 min. for several seconds then back on for 8-10 min. i was wondering what could be causing this? its kinda annoying.

I am confused on why you are running them off an ESC??? Why not run them straight from a battery. It sounds like the ESC is faulting out...maybe too much draw??? Not sure.

Have you check the temp when they cut out?

Figure out the draw and see if it is pushing the limits of the ESC//

just because i had the extra leads from it and it already had an on/off switch. is what getting hot? the esc?

Yes...

I would eliminate the esc...but how will you run the winch then???

i could eliminate running the lights through the esc. just need a switch between battery and lights. leave the esc to run the winch only. can i wire the lights direct from the battery?

Not sure what the limits on your LED's are but if you are pushing 7.2V for everything...I would think that it would be OK...

Other option would be to run a BEC to the lights at a lower voltage...

Yes you can run the LEDs right off of the battery. That is why we put in the resistors for ya buddy But I would rather see a you use a CC BEC set to 6.0V to run them, as that is what 4 AA batteries put out. That should light you up without the cutting out.

ok guys thanks, i will have to try to wire them directly to the bat, and maybe with a bec.
