DSM Air/Surface ?

Anyone know if there would any regulatory problems with running a DSM air/helli radio system in a surface model?

(like the regulations against running 72 mhz air systems in a 75mhz surface models)


I wouldn't think there would be since both DSMs (air or surface) modulate within the same frequency band.
couldnt find anything about it in my researching, and wondered if its been brought up and anyone knows.

None at all...in fact a lot of clod guys run a DX6 or DX7...

You only need to get the surface receiver...It is recommended to use their Bot Receiver


If you are using some other brand, I am not sure what combo you would need. I would think JR would be the same as Spektrum.

so I run the BR6000 rec. and everything is kool. So since the BR600 is a 6 channel, wouldnt be much use in getting the DX7 (less I kan get it at a better price than a DX6) unless I were to use some mixing in the higher channels.

Also, any know any surface software to replace the air/heli software? (I know theres not a big difference, I just prefer the surface terms for each channel, lol)

As Rckcrwlr said, with 2.5 Gig stuff there is no difference in terms of legality for air or surface.


As far as I know, all you can do to set-up a DX6/7 for surface use is to remove the throttle ratchet. I would get a hold Stick King on here as he uses a DX7 I believe.

joen007 has a DX6 for sale...already has the mod done. He had Spektrum do it so not to void the warranty...
